Justin Bieber - Love Yourself (PURPOSE : The Movement)
Two Companies This Mom Loves. And One I Hate.
Pre-baby, I had the time and energy to put up a fight when I felt like a company was—not to mince words—screwing me over. These days, I have neither time nor energy, so I try to only do business with companies with top-notch customer service. Here are two I'm loving right now. (And one I'm NOT.)
Land of NodWhen I recently wrote to complain about a nine-month-old rug that was fraying, this Crate & Barrel offshoot could have very well said, "Your nine-month-old rug is NOT our problem." Instead they said, "That's horrible! Please accept our apology! We'll send you a new rug and take back the old one! And of COURSE we won't charge you!" I was able to handle everything via e-mail, my problem was resolved in less than 24 hours, and the new rug was here two days later. I will definitely be doing business with them again.
Babies R UsIf I had mailed in the little registration card that came with my BOB Revolution stroller, the manufacturer would have told me about a recent recall that affected me. But I didn't. (Honestly, who has time to mail in all those little cards?!) Thankfully, because the BOB was on my baby registry, Babies R Us e-mailed to let me know about the recall—even though (according to the registry) the stroller was never bought! (It was out of stock there, so my mother-in-law found it elsewhere.) Thank you, Babies R Us!
PayPalWith a six-month-old baby, I was trying to handle all of my Christmas shopping online last year. All was going well, until a pair of jeans I ordered for Rory (and paid for with PayPal) didn't arrive. I contacted the seller, who sent them three weeks later, and then tried to contact her again—via PayPal—when I realized the jeans were totally knockoffs. PayPal closed my initial complaint (the one about the non-delivery) and wouldn't let me open a second one about the fraudulent merchandise. So I'm stuck with 0 knockoffs. I hung up on PayPal after 35 minutes on hold one night, and they refuse to return my e-mails. Customer service FAIL. Unfortunately, because they're so widespread, I'm sure I'll have to use PayPal again. But I intend to do my best to avoid it.
