Mom Life Ain't Easy | Toddler Terrible Two's
We've all heard the comments.
"What do you actuallydoon maternity leave?"
"You're so lucky you're a stay-at-home mom, you must have soooo much time on your hands!"
"Being a mom is not a real job."
"Oh, so you'rejusta mom?"
They're misguided, unfair and completely frustrating—and now one mom is slamming the idea that mamas don't have their hands ridiculously full.
Real mom Anna Strode received a comment from a social media user who basically insinuated that the mama doesn't have responsibilities. "It basically said 'I wish I got to stay at home all day and exercise with my child, instead I have to go to work and do WORK...' Work?! You think I don't WORK?! You think I sit at home all day and twiddle my thumbs? You think 2 x 22 month old toddlers just let me kick my feet up all day after I've done my morning workout? You think I'm beaming with energy as I grow a new baby and frantically do my best to keep up with twin boys that run rings around me?!" Strode wrote alongside a photo of herself with her children.
Then she proceeded to break down how difficult and busy mom life is. Strode tore down the assumption that she has all the time in the world to exercise, admitting that sometimes even a 20 to 30 minute workout is tough to squeeze in, and that her kids interrupt her more often than not (yup, sounds like #MomLife to us). She listed of a whole roster of duties moms must assume, totally obliterating the idea that raising children is a walk in the park by doing so. It's something you need to see—especially if you're an overworked mom who is completely fed up with ignorant comments from people who just don't get it.
Commenters have totally got the mama's back. "You are doing a great job and are definitely an inspiration. , no joke. I am a SAHM and work part-time too doing moveout cleans (very physical work). I bring my kiddo with me to work so no breaks there. I barely ever have time to workout right now or don't feel good enough to get up and do it because I'm pregnant too (low energy, nausea, aches and pains...), but try when I can. Keep up the good work. You are what I aim to do in a day and I'm working to get there," one fellow mother wrote.
We applaud this mama for standing up for overworked mothers everywhere.
