QUESTIONS

Q: Did you reproduce everything inside the Sistine Chapel?

A: Our exhibit focuses on Michelangelo’s contributions to the Sistine Chapel: namely the artwork from the ceiling and the Last Judgement. By bringing the artwork closer, we hope the visitor will be able to appreciate these famous masterpieces from a new perspective.

Q: Is the artwork in the exhibit the same size as the original in the Vatican? Has it been altered in any way?

A: Since the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel is curved, these reproductions are as close to the original size as possible; however, our mission was never to copy the entire ceiling, so some of the bordering elements such as the Ignudi angels and other framing devices are not included. It was necessary to crop some of the images in order to fit them into the display design, but rest assured: all key images from the Chapel are included in the exhibit.

Q: What is the source of the images and when were they taken?

A: The exhibit is produced by Special Entertainment Events (SEE), a L.A.-based exhibition production company which acquired the worldwide rights to the fresco reproductions from Bridgeman Images. The photographs were taken post-restoration of the ceiling; in some cases, color enhancement was necessary to match the images for consistency.

Q: I purchased my ticket for a specific day and time, but now I can’t make it. What do I do?

A: We want you to see the exhibit, so please and we will do our best to accommodate you. You can also  or call their support line at 1-800-514-3849. Monday through Saturday 9 am to 8 pm EST.

Q: Can I take photos inside the exhibit?

A: Yes! Photos for personal use are permitted, but please do not use a flash. For any professional or filming requests, please contact SEE Global Entertainment

Q: What days and time is the exhibit open?

A: The exhibit entry times are as follows:

Saturday & Sunday
Noon – 1:30 p.m.
1:45 p.m. – 3:15 p.m.
3:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
5:15 p.m. – 6:45 p.m.
7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Wednesday & Thursday & Friday
1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
2:45 p.m. – 4:15 p.m.
4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
6:15 p.m. – 7:45 p.m.

Note: We are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Q: How much do tickets cost for the exhibit at The Armory?

A: General tickets are available at  each. Broadway Center Members, Groups 10+, and Military:

Please note: online sales for each exhibition will close at 10:00 a.m. the morning of that day (i.e. Saturday tickets will no longer be available to purchase online beginning at 10:00 a.m. that morning). Tickets will be available at the door each day the exhibit is open, beginning one hour prior to the first admission time.

Q: Is an audio guide available for rent?

A: Yes, you can reserve or rent one at the box office.

Q: Can I bring food/drink inside?

A: Sorry, no outside food or drink is allowed.

Q: Do you allow strollers?

A: Yes, parents with strollers are always welcome. Your baby will have one of the best views in the house!
