How to Make Samoas Poke Cake
Poke cakes are delectable desserts where pudding, condensed milk, or another sweet thick liquid is poured through evenly poked holes in a cake. When solidified, it gives the cake a decorative effect in each slice and moist taste in every bite. This poke cake, based on a popular Girl Scout Cookie, is delicious and conveniently utilises commercial cake mix. Get started making one at step number one below.
1 box yellow cake mix, plus ingredients to make cake
13.4 ounces Dulce De Leche
4 tablespoons heavy cream
7 to 8 ounces coconut flakes
3 to 4 tablespoons hot fudge
Bake the cake in a 9x13 inch (22cm x 28cm) baking pan.Use the original directions or instructions according to the recipe of your choice. Set the cake aside to cool completely.
Make the holes in the cake.Use the round tip at the end of a wooden spoon to create evenly portioned holes throughout the entire cake.
Heat the Dulche De Leche and heavy cream.Add them in a small sauce pot over a medium heat. At a constant speed, whisk the ingredients for a few minutes until it's heated thoroughly.
Divide the mixture in two bowls.Add the coconut flakes in one of the bowls.
Pour the non-coconut bowl over the cooled cake.Allow the mixture to seep into the holes and spread it evenly on the top.
Layer the coconut mixture on top.
Drizzle hot fudge around the cake.
Refrigerate the cake.Use plastic wrap to cover the cake and place it in the refrigerator to chill for a few hours. This allows the filling to absorb into the cake. Allow the cake to chill until it's ready to be served.
