2 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. paprika
3/4 tsp. ground cumin
1/2 tsp.
1/4 tsp. Freshly ground black pepper
ground red pepper
porterhouse steak
1 tbsp. olive oil
large red bell pepper
large Red Onion
  1. Mix chili powder, paprika, cumin, salt, black pepper, and ground red pepper; set aside 1 teaspoon. Sprinkle steak with remaining spice rub. Let steak sit at room temperature 1 hour.
  2. Prepare a hot fire in a charcoal or gas grill. In small bowl, combine reserved spice rub and oil; brush on pepper and onion.
  3. Grill steak 6 to 8 minutes per side for medium-rare, turning once. Grill peppers and onions, turning once, until tender, about 3 minutes per side. Let steak stand 5 minutes before slicing. Cut peppers into 1" strips. Serve sliced steak with onion and pepper.
